Some photos of mt peonies from this week. The ones we got in at Trader Joe's this year were really amazing! Last year they were much more lackluster, but this yea they opened beautifully and lasted all week!
No outfit photos for a few days, I went to the beach on memorial day with my mom and sister and I got sunburnt. Pretty bad, all on my front side. I only put sunscreen on my shoulders, so they are white! But the rest of me, lobster! I also went to a job interview today in the city, but that's all I'm gonna day about that for now, cause nothing is certain and I don't want to jinx anything ;) But it is a fashion related job, I will day that! Got to start getting my life in order and find a job for when I move. But I'm excited for where this might take me.. updates to come, once the happen ;)
And thanks for all the kind words from my last outfit post! I guess I am being a bit silly about how I feel about wearing shorts. I wore another pair today! I think I finally shook my fear!

You wouldn't know it, but I have a pretty large collection of cute high waisted shorts. Probably about 10 pairs ranging in color, print, fabric. I got denim, silk, solid color, paisley print, polkadots and more. All similar cut and shape to these ones, I'm talking super cute shorts that I think would sell like hot cakes, if I decided to sell any. The funny thing is that I never wear them, I'm like too afraid to or something. I love the way they look on other people, and I want to wear them, but most times I put them on when getting dressed, they always end up coming off. I think it's something to do with my short torso/long leg combo that just puts me off. But I'm going to try my darndest to get over it, cause I know I'm just being silly, I mean look how cute they look here!
These shorts I got a few years ago from the thrift store. They were about 10 inches longer when I bought them, I loved the color and the pleats so I got them to hem. I think another thing that prevents me from wearing all my cute shorts is my lack of cute blouses. I never seem to have the color I'm looking for, something about the ones I have just never seem to work. But this one I love! I got it recently from that estate sale I went to a week or so ago. It's REALLY thin, like I'm a little afraid of ripping it, but it maks it perfect for this hot weather we have been having recently. It has the perfect little blue flowers, I feel like it will go with a lot. The shoes are from Beacon's Closet, and the sunnies are from Buffalo Exchange.

Nothing I'm wearing here is new to you fellow readers. I think all of these pieces have made an appearance already, but I have to say, I'm pretty good at not wearing things over again on here. I have enough clothes where I can wear something different for most of the 250 posts I have now. But anyway, this top I got on etsy, the skirt is from h&m and its just like $10 and comes in other colors and has the best shape. I want to get it in other color ways, cause its just really simple and can go with a lot. The shoes I thrifted a long time ago, and the sunnies are from Buffalo Exchange in brooklyn.

Some photos of the roses in my kitchen, who's time is almost up. Out of any flower, roses may be the most beautiful when they dry, hands down! They just get so full and open and they just dry really nice, even without having to hang them upside down. Yesterday we finally got peonies in! Which are now sitting in my kitchen next to these roses. They are already opening beautifully, love peonies. Every time I say their name I giggle cause I feel like I'm saying "panties" lol.

This is a bit of an image heavy post, I try and keep most posts under 8 photos, but I took some cool shots of a sunset I watched today and I just couldn't help it. I worked early this morning, then when I got out I went to hit up the salvo, cause on wednesdays all but one color tag is 1/2 off. Best day to go! What sucks though is that I get paid tomorrow, so I had to keep my spending to a minimum. I got some good stuff for myself and for my shop. Like this cool plaid shirt I'm wearing here. I was wearing something much more girly this afternoon, but once I got home from thrifting and being out in the heat (getting a mini heat wave here, 70s and 80s all week with chance of thunderstorms, except for today) I wanted to just relax and be comfy.
I helped myself to some rum and cherry pepsi's too. I don't drink much, but it felt like summer and so it felt right. Then later when the sun was starting to get low in the sky, I drove out to the spot I went on my birthday back in december to watch the sunset all on my lonesome. I brought a blanket and my book and just relaxed and watched the sun get low. As you can see, it's not the most beautiful of places, it looks like it was a new home development that stopped developing. But it's a high elevation with a good view of the west.
So yea, the button down I got today, the shorts I got at the same salvo a week or so ago. They fit really nice and loose for high waisted shorts, I think they will be quite the staple this summer. The woven leather oxfords I got at Beacon's Closet last year. I came across them on the rack, then as I was walking around the store with them I was asked about three times if I was going to get them, and if not could they have them. Glad I found them first ;)

Today I had the day off, My boyfriend has also started his new job so I was left to my own devices all day. Early I went to the post office to drop off some packages, then I stopped by Joanne's fabric store to get some zippers and elastic.. I was going to take on a sewing pattern today! I have a bunch of them, and so much fabric sitting around. I felt motivated today, so I picked this cute 70s blouse to make, and was doing quite fine until I came across a small problem on the straps. Which led me to take a break which led me to "ill finnish it tomorrow" I really will this time! Scouts honor!
In the evening I went to get an MRI, my first one, for my back problems. Man do they suck! After we were just about to get started I realized I still had my rings on and I freaked out a bit. I didn't know why you couldn't have metal on, maybe it will make the machine explode! So I started taking them off, then I got the MRI blurry and we had to do it again. It took forever! And it was loud and there was not classic rock playing in my headphones like she said there would be! But thats all over with now.
This is one of my favorite vintage dresses. It may even be the first real vintage dress I ever thrifted. And making it look better than ever before is my TLO One Shocking Moment bra underneath! It makes me just want to wear 50s and 60s vintage every day! My shoes I got from h&m quite a few years abo. I think I was still in high school, they are really cute and very comfy. They give you a nice little lift without it feeling like your wearing a heel at all!

You may all know about my deep appreciation for the female body. I think it is a beautiful thing, and the Playboys from eras past really showcase that. I came across this Playboy tumblr today and nearly reblogged everything that was tagged 1950s or 1960s. I love the colors, their hair! the clothes, the funny shape of their breast from all the form shaping undergarments they wore back then. I picked up a few early 60s issues at Brimfield last week, and all I want to do is rip out all the centerfolds and hang them around my bedroom. There are already two pairs of bare breast on our bedroom walls, I'm sure my boyfriend wont mind more right?
Oh, and check out my tumblr for more pretty naked ladies and just pretty things in general. I pretty much just reblog, so it's nothing special. I actually have 534 followers now! Not to sure why.. but I can dig it!
EDIT: I guess some of those photos were too much for photobucket.. nudity I guess. woops! Took a few down, but theres many more on that playboy tumblr so check it out!
